Presenting Two Papers at the Industrial Waters Conference
ADI Systems is pleased to be presenting two papers at Industrial Waters 2017, the annual national conference of the New Zealand Trade and Industrial Waters Forum (NZTIWF). The event will take place April 18-20 in Palmerston North, New Zealand.
Industrial Waters provides a platform where conference delegates from government and various industries can participate in chaired discussions on a number of important subjects, including raw water quality, waste treatment options, resource allocations, and water efficiency.
Two of ADI Systems’ engineers will deliver wastewater treatment presentations at the conference, and all delegates are invited to attend.
“Is there life after DAF?” – Dr. Alzbeta Bouskova
Thursday, April 20 (1:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.)
This presentation explores how anaerobic digestion can provide a cost-effective alternative to the Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) process—either for initial treatment of raw wastewater or for processing the DAF sludge. Anaerobic digestion reduces the volume of waste sludge, minimizing costs associated with hauling. The sludge that is produced is stable enough to be directly applied on land as fertilizer. Moreover, biogas produced during the anaerobic digestion process can be used as a fuel replacement or for electricity generation, even further lowering costs.
“Eliminating odour and sludge issues from dairy wastewater” – Dr. Chris Hearn
Thursday, April 20 (1:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.)
This presentation examines the recent expansion of a world-class cheese manufacturer’s facility in Tasmania, Australia. The case study demonstrates how ADI Systems was able to help the cheese manufacturer handle variations in influent flow and organic load inherent to dairy wastewaters, as well as meet effluent discharge limits without imposing on the municipal treatment plant capacity. The ADI-BVF® reactor and the sequencing batch reactor (SBR) allow for cost-effective treatment of cheese production effluent.
If you’re at the Industrial Waters conference, be sure to sit in on these informative presentations. If you are not able to attend, contact us to learn how our treatment technologies can help you responsibly address your wastewater challenges.
