New Project with New Belgium Brewing
ADI Systems has been awarded a wastewater treatment project with New Belgium Brewing, the fourth-largest craft brewer in the United States and the eighth-largest brewery in the nation.
Since 1991, New Belgium Brewing has been brewing delicious craft beer at its brewery in Fort Collins, Colorado, USA. New Belgium Brewing’s flagship beer is Fat Tire Belgian Ale, but it also brews other popular brands such as Voodoo Ranger IPA and Citradelic IPA. To keep pace with consumer demand, New Belgium recently built a second brewery in Asheville, North Carolina, USA.
New Belgium Brewing’s core values include producing world-class beers and preserving environmental stewardship. Wastewater from the brewing process in Asheville is currently being sent to the city for treatment, but the company wants more direct control of its sustainability efforts.
To achieve this goal, ADI Systems will design and build a customized on-site wastewater treatment system for New Belgium Brewing’s new brewery, which is sized to produce upwards of 500,000 barrels of beer per year. The new anaerobic membrane bioreactor (ADI-AnMBR) is a new and innovative, space-saving technology that produces a superior quality effluent. This project represents ADI Systems’ seventh AnMBR installation in the USA.
Like New Belgium Brewing, ADI Systems is an employee-owned company and each and every one of us is committed to making the project a success. We look forward to working collaboratively with New Belgium Brewing to help the craft beer industry remain sustainable.
Substantial completion of work is expected in early 2018.
